Barbara Carrico presents Community Service Award to Elsie Hinkhouse

The Brunswick Town Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) presented DAR member Elsie Hinkhouse of Caswell Beach the chapter’s Community Service Award for the year for her role in the development of the Brunswick County Resource Center, which culminated in the 2009 opening of the Brunswick Center of Southport. She has also been recognized by the North Carolina state DAR.

The Community Service Award recognizes local individuals for outstanding achievements in humanitarian, patriotic, historical or citizenship endeavors or environmental conservations, as well as their contributions in the community in an outstanding voluntary manner.

March 9th DAR Meeting

The March 9, 2011 Brunswick Town Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution monthly meeting will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 209 East Nash St. in Southport, NC at 10:00.
